Ronald L. Eby, 74, of Edison Road, in
Osceola, Ind., passed away on Saturday, June 9, in St. Joseph
Community Hospital, Mishawaka, Ind. Mr. Eby was born Sept. 28,
1926, in Mishawaka, to Raymond and Athel (Timbers) Eby.
Mr. Eby graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1945.
On Jan. 28, 1950, in Mishawaka, he married
Ardith D. Rafferty. Mr. Eby leaves to cherish his memories
his loving wife of 51 years, Ardith; his four sons, Marty (Diane Seifert)
Eby of Edwardsburg, Mich., Jeff (Debbie) Eby of Dallas, Texas,
Tim (Kathi) Eby of Osceola, Mike Eby and his special friend, Dale
Waak of Osceola; grandchildren, Jeff Thompson and
Brian Eby, both of Dallas, Kelci, McKenzie and Lindsey Eby, all
of Osceola; his sister, Cybil (Floyd) Oakley of Osceola;
two great-grandchildren, Shealyn and Brendan Thompson, both of
Dallas.
Mr. Eby was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and
was honorably discharged in 1947. Mr. Eby was a big fan of Notre
Dame and the Chicago Cubs. He was a devoted member of the Brick
Layers Local 18, where he once served as trustee of the pension
fund and past vice president of the union. He often enjoyed
coaching little league for Osceola. Everything Mr. Eby did, he
was a perfectionist in all aspects, and when he did things he
took pride in his work. Especially in his craftsmanship.
Friends may visit at Chapel Hill Funeral
Home from 2 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Funeral services will be at
11 a.m. on Tuesday, with viewing one hour prior. Rev. Frank
Stevens will be officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens in Osceola. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to the P.H.M. Education Foundation.
