Mrs. Beatrice H. Edwards

March 12, 1894 – December 14, 1972

Mrs. Beatrice H. Edwards, 78, of 52612 Shellbark Ave., died at 10:35pm Thursday in Farris-Lombardy Nursing Home after a two month illness.

She was born on March 12, 1894, in Cuba NY, and had lived in South Bend 32 years, coming from Cedar Rapids IA.  As Beatrice Hewitt, she was married to Jean Edwards in 1940.  He died in 1961.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gwendolyn Kolda of Central City IA, and Mrs. Mary Louise Schrader of South Bend; a son, Robert Hewitt of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Graham of Portage WI and Mrs. Jennibelle Hoyt of Davenport IA.

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today and in The Forest G. Hay & Son Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St., where services will be held at 3pm Saturday by Rev. P. Keith Bennett, pastor of First Brethren Church.  Burial will be in Sumption Prairie Cemetery.
