Geraldine Edwards

MISHAWAKA - Geraldine Edwards, 92, of Mishawaka, passed away at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2007, in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, IN. Geraldine was born on June 21, 1915, to Monroe and Emma (Teitz) Faulkenburg in South Bend. Both parents preceded her in death.

 

As the former Geraldine Faulkenburg, she married her first husband, William M. Miller, on June 7, 1935. William passed away on August 8, 1950. Geraldine then married her second husband, Arthur Edwards, in South Bend, on December 4, 1962. Geraldine and Arthur celebrated 44 years of marriage and commitment to each other. Geraldine is survived by her husband, Arthur, and their six children, Paul (Kathy) Miller of Mishawaka, Richard (Ann) Miller of Georgia, Miriam (Ludwig) Geier and Patricia Chavez, both from California, Carol Wright of Texas and Arthur Edwards Jr. of Michigan. Geraldine was a loving grandmother to 16 grandchildren, Richard Miller Jr., Mary Watts, Jeanette Rainwater, all from Georgia, Laura (Devoy) McKenzie of Granger, IN, Electa Avery of Leesburg IN, Nancy Gouker of Goshen, IN, Stephen Miller of Goshen, IN, Mattew, Nicole Geier, David, Chad and Kevin Chavez, all from California, Karen DeFigueredo of Texas, Shelly and Christine Edwards of Michigan, and Jennifer Vining-Smith of Chicago, Ill. Geraldine was a great-grandmother to 19 great-grandchildren. Geraldine is also survived by two nieces, Mary Ann (Bob) Soll of Columbus, IN, and Alice Piazza of California. Geraldine attended Mishawaka High School. She also was a member of Saint Monica Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Geraldine was a devoted housewife and mother to her family.

 

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2007, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007, in Saint Monica Catholic Church, 222 W. Mishawaka Ave., with one hour visitation prior to the service. Father Jeffery Largent will officiate the Mass. Burial will follow the service at the Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka, IN.
