Joseph G. Edwards

February 29, 1896 - February 1, 1980

Joseph G. Edwards, 83, of 167 Burbank, was found dead outside his home at about 6am Friday where he had apparently collapsed from a heart attack.  He was retired from the Ransberger Interior Decorating co.

He was born on February 29, 1896, in Russia and had lived in South Bend most of his life.  On July 17, 1920, in St Joseph MI, he married Helen Kazmierzak.  She died in 1977.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Connie White of Orlando FL, Miss Betty Jane Edwards of Riverside CA, and Mrs. Alyce Procaccino, of Colorado Springs CO; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Constance Clerpial of South Bend.

Memorial services will be at 2:30 pm Monday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N William.  Rev. Vaughn Sprunger, pastor of Community Baptist Church, will officiate.  Cremation will be in Riverview Crematory.  There will be no visitation.  He was a lifetime member of the Brotherhood of Painters, Decorators and Paper Hangers of America; an Army veteran of WW I and a member of the Disable American Veterans Chapter 6.
