Rebecca J. Eggleston

Rebecca J. Eggleston, 85, of Wenger Street, in Mishawaka, Ind., died at 1:05 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in Saint Joseph Community Hospital. Rebecca was born in Dunkirk, Ind., on May 24, 1916, and had lived in this area most of her life.

 

As Rebecca Wineland-Krepps, she married Dewitt H. Eggleston in Mishawaka on May 9, 1936. Dewitt preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and by three brothers, William, Eugene and Roger. She worked as a receptionist for Dr. Verna Christophel and Dr. Koyani, retiring in 1986. Rebecca volunteered as a pink lady at Saint Joseph Community Hospital and did volunteer work at the St. Joseph County Public Library. She was a member of Tri Kappa, the Mishawaka C lass of 1933 Reunion Committee, and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

 

Mrs. Eggleston is survived by a daughter, Jane A. Eggleston of Mishawaka; two sons, David O. (Janet) Eggleston of Mishawaka and William B. (Connie) Eggleston of Bloomington, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and by two sisters, Katherine Robinson of Mishawaka and Mary Jones of South Bend, Ind.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with Fr. David Ottsen officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
