Brother Melaric Cornelius Eifel CSC, 69, of Holy Cross House at Notre Dame, died Saturday morning at St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. Born Nov. 18, 1918 in Chicago, he made his first profession of vows in the Congregation of Holy Cross on Aug. 16, 1939. With the exception of two periods of study, he spent his entire life assisting in nursing care at the Holy Cross Community Infirmary and Holy Cross House.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Church at Notre Dame. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Community Cemetery. A wake services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. today in Moreau Seminary where friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today.
