MISHAWAKA - Marion Elkins, 66, of South Ironwood Drive, Mishawaka, passed away at 12:37 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. He was born in LaPorte on Dec. 5, 1929, and moved to Mishawaka in 1961 from LaPorte.
On Sept. 3, 1949, in LaPorte, he married Roberta McClellan. She survives with five daughters, Sharon M. Elkins of South Bend, Karen Van Tornhout of Mishawaka, Laureen Sue Yeakey of South Bend, Elizabeth M. Smith of Mishawaka, Patricia A. Weimer of Osceola; two sons, Robert M. Elkins and Richard D. Elkins of South Bend; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Creta Mae Daniels of Blountsville, Ala., Shelby Jean Ninemier of Madison, Kan., and Jacqueline Biller of LaPorte; and two brothers, William Elkins of Madison, Kan., and Lloyd Elkins of Lansing, Tenn. He worked for Local 150 International Union of Engineers for 25 years retiring in 1986.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Friday in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Services will be Saturday morning in the funeral home. Cremation will follow the services.
