A memorial service for Mrs. Doris Ellis, 84, of South Bend, formerly of New Carlisle, will be held at the United Methodist Church in New Carlisle on Saturday, May 2nd, at 2:30 p.m. Viewing will be held Friday evening, May 1st, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Ind., and one hour prior to services at the church. Mrs. Ellis was born, educated, and raised in New Carlisle.

A lifelong advocate of the arts, Mrs. Ellis taught piano, accompanied dance classes, and was employed by Cardinal Nursing Home in South bend for 20 years. Mrs. Ellis is survived by a son, Ned Ellis of Hillside, N.J.; a sister, Mary Alice Sutter of Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, Robert Zigler of New Carlisle and Joe Zigler of South Bend; and by several favorite nieces and nephews in Maine, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota and California.
