Victoria Elmo

MISHAWAKA - Victoria ''Vickie'' Elmo, 87, formerly of West 12th Street in Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 8:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd, in the Countryside Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mishawaka.

 

Mrs. Elmo was born on Feb. 11, 1911, in Rimini, Italy, as the daughter of the late Luigi and Ida (Casadas) Ciavatta. She had been a Michiana area resident since 1920, coming from Italy.

 

On July 12, 1930, as Victoria Ciavatta, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, she married Louis Elmo, who also preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1992.

 

Mrs. Elmo is survived by a son, Eugene ''Gene'' (Carol) Elmo of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Lynn Elmo of Aurora, Colo., Lisa (Kenneth) Andridge of Orian, Mich., and Laurie (David) Gross of Spring Hill, Tenn.; and by seven great-grandchildren and a nephew, Gianpiero Ciavatta of Italy.

 

Mrs. Elmo was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church and a member of DeAmicia's Ladies Auxiliary, Mishawaka. She was employed by the former Ball Band in Mishawaka.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25th, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. James Shafer officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
