SOUTH BEND - Melania "Molly" A. Elwell, 83, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 1:15 AM Sunday, April 27, 2008, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. She retired in 1989 from Dumar Office Furniture and formerly worked for the Census Bureau. She was born on December 11, 1924, in South Bend, to Joseph and Angela (Siatkowski) Kopinski, and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Elwell is survived by her three daughters, Judy (George) Kruyer of Plymouth, Terry Osmanski of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Melanie Decker of Mishawaka; one son, John (LaVonne) Osmanski of Medford, OR; six grandchildren, Jason and Amanda Kruyer, Jenni and Michael Osmanski, Ryan and Todd Decker; and one great-grandchild, R.J. Decker. Three brothers, Leonard, Frank and Joseph Kopinski, preceded her in death. Mrs. Elwell was a member of the Rock and Gem Club, Ladies of the Moose and the Historical Society. She was a volunteer at the Century Center.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM today, May 1, 2008, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Father Daniel Scheidt will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 AM until time of services today in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Molly Elwell may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 922 E. Colfax, South Bend, IN 46617.
