Gertrude “Trudy” Erhardt, 61, of Sunwood Drive, South Bend, Indiana, passed away following a long illness at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, August, 29th, 2006, in Hospice House, South Bend.

She was born October 2nd, 1944, in South Bend, Indiana, to Walter and Monica “Mickey” (Sobczak) Koehnke.

On October 27, 1962, in South Bend, she married Jack Erhardt. He survives with her mother, Monica “Mickey” Koehnke of Granger; four children, Darlene (Jack) Swank of South Bend, Linda (Jim) McClain of Jones, Michigan, Eileen (Michael) Jurgonski of South Bend and Lisa (Todd) Fenner of Granger; seven grandchildren, Steven McClain, Zachary Fenner, Andrew Jurgonski, Staci Jurgonski, Rachal Jurgonski, Chase Fenner and Paige Fenner; five sisters, Patricia (James) Graveel of Elgin, Ill., Janet Monroe of North Liberty, Judith (Robert) Lytle of New Haven, Ind., Marcia (Dirk) Teitsma of Elkhart and Marie Ronan of Lakeville.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter G. Koehnke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in St. Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, and one hour prior to the Mass in St. Monica Catholic Church.

Mrs. Erhardt was a member of the Sisters Auxiliary of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, South Bend.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the American Cancer Society.
