MISHAWAKA — Richard Ermeti, 67, of West 16th Street, died Sunday in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Sue (Edwards); a daughter, Kristin Ermeti of South Bend; a son, Scott of Barcelona, Spain; a stepdaughter, Donna Woodward of Mishawaka; his mother, Rose Ermeti of Mishawaka; and a brother, Carl of Mishawaka. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hahn Funeral Home, and one hour before services at the church.

Mishawaka - Richard "Dick" Ermeti, 67, of West 16th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind.

 

Dick was born on Aug. 24, 1935, in Mishawaka, as the son of Frank and Rose (Alessandri) Ermeti. Dick was preceded in death by his father Frank on March 11, 1979.

 

On Dec. 23, 1999, in Mishawaka, Dick married the former Sue Edwards, who survives. Dick is also survived by his mother, Rose Ermeti of Mishawaka, a daughter, Kristin Ermeti of South Bend; a son, Richard Scott Ermeti of Barcelona, Spain; a stepdaughter, Donna (Bryon) Woodward of Mishawaka; a brother, Carl (Rita) Ermeti of Mishawaka; and by a step-granddaughter, Caysie Wilcox.

 

In addition to being a devoted husband and loving son, father and brother, Dick had a strong relationship with his family in Santracangelo Di Romagna, Italy, along with his many friends and acquaintances here through his many travels. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was a true friend.

 

Dick worked for Indiana Bell and AT&T for 32 years in various supervisory and management positions. He then worked for Dewald Fluid Power as a sales associate for more than 16 years from 1986 until 2003.

 

Friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to services on Thursday, Jan. 9, in First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Lorin Clemenz officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.

 

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dick be made to the American Lung Association, 319 South Main Street, South Bend, IN 46601.
