Chancy D. Ernst, 92, of 725 Peacock Lane, Mishawaka, In., formerly of North Red Bud Trail, Buchanan, Mich., passed away at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, of natural causes in Arbor Woods Living Center, Mishawaka.

Chancy was born on Oct. 5, 1911, in Osceola, Ind., to the late August C. and Estella (Eutzler) Ernst. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, E.J., Bruce, and George Ernst.

He retired as a self-employed farmer in 1999.

Mr. Ernst is survived by three sisters, Sara J. Flury of Mishawaka, Ind. and Lynn (Steven) Panic and Loretta (Alex) Curtis, both of South Bend, Ind.; and by a brother, Irven Ernst of Summerfield, Fla.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 6 in Swem Funeral Home, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan, Mich., with Brother Steve Nani officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka.
