Joseph Francis Eveld, 88, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of South Bend [Indiana] died Saturday in Phoenix.  Mr. Eveld retired in 1970 from Sears, Roebuck and Co., South Bend, as a salesman.  He was born Dec. 10, 1904 in Altus, Ark., and lived in Phoenix since 1980, going there from Jasper, Ind.  He is survived by his wife, Eileen Eveld of Phoenix; a daughter June Kirkendall of Phoenix; two sons, Robert J. Sr. and James F. both of Phoenix; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted Wednesday in Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Phoenix.  Burial was in Resthaven Park Cemetery, Phoenix.  Hansen Mortuary, Phoenix, handled arrangements.
