SOUTH BEND - Joshua Fairchild, 18, of Anderson, Ind., formerly of South Bend, died May 21 in his home after an illness.

Mr. Fairchild was born Sept. 6, 1976, in South Bend. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Howland of South Bend; a sister, Saundra Howland of South Bend; three brothers, Chris, Josh and Jacob, all of South Bend; and maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Walter Berndt of South Bend.

Services were Tuesday in Central Community Chapel, Anderson. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson. Ballard & Sons Funeral Home, Middletown, Ind., handled arrangements. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. June 3 in Bethany Lutheran Church, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Logan or American Cancer Society
