MISHAWAKA - Services for Primo J. Fanti, 74, of Spring Street, who died at 5:40 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Community Hospital, will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hahn Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 3 p.m.

Mr. Fanti, a Democrat, served from 1976 until 1991 on the Mishawaka Common Council representing the 2nd District. He also served as president of the council from 1979 to 1986.

He was born Jan. 1, 1921, in Logansport, Ind. On June 12, 1945, in South Bend, he married Alice D. Sopczynski. She survives with a son, Mitchell J. of San Isidro, Argentina; and three grandchildren. A daughter, Carolyn, died in 1956.
