South Bend Tribune, Local Obituaries; Tuesday, May 26, 1981.         

Louis Farkas, 72, of 1221 N. Wilbur, died at 5 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.  He was a supervisor at the Bendix Corp. for 33 years.  Born on April 07, 1909, in South Bend, he had lived here most of his life.  On March 7, 1934, in Highwood, Ill., he married Florence E. Wood, who survives.  Also surviving, are a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Ballinger of South Bend; three sons, Louis S. of Shipshewana, Robert W. of Park Forest, Ill., and James J. of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Katherine Szucs of New Carlisle; and two brothers, Steve of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Julius of Kalamazoo, Mich.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home.

FARKAS - Services for Louis Farkas, 72, of 1221 N. Wilbur, who died Monday in Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home.  Rev. Albin Hosinski, C.S.C., associate pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
