SOUTH BEND - Mary Farkas, 79, passed away at 6:50 a.m.
Saturday, June 28, 2008, in Hospice House. Mary was born on July
18, 1928, in South Bend, to Stanley and Anna (Atemborski) Kaczmarczyk.
She retired from Logan Center in 1997 after 19 years.
On October 23, 1948, as Mary Kaczmarczyk,
she married Joseph C. Farkas, who died on June 3, 2001. Mary was
also preceded in death by three sisters, Lottie Cuzinski,
Josephine Elli and Frances Csaszar; four brothers,
Chester Kaczmarczyk, Roy Kaczmarczyk, Casimer Kaczmarczyk and
Adam Kaczmarczyk; and two grandchildren, Jerome Lekarczyk
and Joseph Lekarczyk. Surviving are two daughters, Michelle
(David) Lekarczyk of Valparaiso and Marijo M. Farkas of South
Bend; three sons, Joseph M. (Diane) Farkas of Huntington, IN,
David M. Farkas and Patrick M. (Vanessa) Farkas of Rogersville,
MO; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Uttrich, Nicholas
Farkas and Erica Lekarczyk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, in Our Lady of
Hungary Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Family
and friends may call from 4 to 8 Tuesday in the Zahoran Funeral
Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at
5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made
to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, the Humane
Society, or to Our Lady of Hungary Church.
