20, 1940 - June 6, 2010SOUTH BEND - Ronald J. Farkas, 69, of Punta Gorda, FL and formerly of South Bend, passed away on Sunday, June 6 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Ronald was born on August 20, 1940 in South Bend to Joseph and Feidel (Stockmal) Farkas. On May 1, 1965 in South Bend he married the former Delores Kopala. He is survived by his wife, Delores D. Farkas of Punta Gorda, FL; daughters, Diana L. (Todd) Ringer of South Bend, Deborah Sue (Kyle) Williams of Punta Gorda, FL; his parents Joseph and Feidel of Vandalia, MI sisters Phylis Dillion, Connie Skoffer and Pam (Kim) Trinkley all of South Bend; grandchildren, Derek (Tina) Ringer, Joshua Ringer, Tim (Kelly) Hawkins all of South Bend, Ronda (Jason) Bryant, Shellie (Shawn) Skaggs of Punta Gorda, FL and two great granddaughters, Kayla and Kaylee of Punta Gorda, FL. Ronald graduated from Riley High School. He retired from General Liquors in 1990. He started building home and day care centers under Farkas Construction and Realty Inc. for over 20 years before moving to Florida in 1994. He was a member of the Conquistador, Elks, Moose, St. Andrews South of Punta Gorda, Cruise Club, Road Runners RV Club and Civil Associates. He volunteered and helped anyone who needed it. Ronald was an organ donor and blood donor and he will be sorely missed by all the lived he touched. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, June 9 from 4 to 8 pm in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 10 at 10:30 am, with visitation one hour prior in the church, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Dan Scheidt officiating.
