Mrs. Martha Roberts Farmer

December 10, 1895 – July 4, 1955

Mrs. Martha Roberts Farmer, 1136 S. Main St., died at 12:35pm Monday in Memorial Hospital after four days illness.

Born in Somerset PA, December 10, 1895, she came to South Bend 49 years ago.  In South Bend, September 5, 1920, she married Leon C. Farmer.  He survives.  Also surviving are two sons, L. Charles Farmer Jr and Edmund R., both of South Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Jack Sutherland of Chicago; four grandchildren; three sisters, Miss Mary C. Roberts of South Bend, Mrs. William Beaudway of Elmhurst IL; Mrs T. W. Beadle, also of Elmhurst; and two brothers, Robert P. Roberts, of South Bend and James P. Roberts of Winnetka IL.

Mrs. Farmer was a member of First Methodist Church.

Friends may call after7pm today in the Hay Funeral Home until 2pm services there Thursday.  Rev. Kenneth R. Hemphill, pastor of First Methodist Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
