MISHAWAKA - Beatrice ''Jean'' Fastabend,
86, of Fountain View Place Nursing Home, died at 4:05 a.m.
Saturday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. Mrs.
Fastabend retired in 1972 after 25 years with Uniroyal Corp. She
was born March 8, 1910, in Elmhurst, Ill.
On March 9, 1932, in Chicago, as Beatrice L.
Majerus, she married Charles W. Fastabend. He died Dec.
24, 1968. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly J. Hummer
and Shirley Szlanfucht, both of Osceola; seven
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A grandchild
preceded her in death. Mrs. Fastabend was a member of Queen of
Peace Catholic Church and its Rosary Society.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in
Warner Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m.
Monday in the funeral home, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
