Mary Ferger

Mary Ferger, 86, of Healthwin Specialized Care, passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, in the nursing home. Mrs. Ferger was born on Dec. 21, 1912, in South Bend, Ind., to Bernard and Eleanora (Kuzlics) Fekete, and had lived in South Bend all her life. She retired from the A & P Supermarket in 1978 after 27 years of service.

 

As Mary Fekete, she married Benjamin Frank Ferger on May 25, 1940. Mr. Ferger preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ann Fekete; and by two brothers, Michael and Peter Fekete. She is survived by a brother, Joseph Fekete of Indiana.

 

Mrs. Ferger was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and American Legion Post 50, Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the former Studebaker Corporation's Mary Ann Bowling League.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.

 

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 14, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437; or to Holy Cross Church, 1520 Vassar Avenue, South Bend, IN 46628.
