Thomas House Ferguson

Jan. 2, 1933 - Nov. 2, 2001

Mr. Thomas House Ferguson, 67, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of South Bend, Ind., perished in his residence on Friday, Nov. 2, 2001. He was born in Trenton, Tenn., on Jan. 2, 1933, to Bertha Mae House and Herman Ferguson, who preceded him in death along with a special aunt, Hattie Ferguson.

 

As a lifelong resident, he was loved by many family members and friends. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Elks Lodge. Thomas was a former A.M. General employee, retiring after 25 years of service.

 

He has left to cherish his memory his wife, Patricia Ann Ferguson; his mother-in-law, Mary Salone of Chicago Heights, Ill.; a brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Berleen Austin of Indianapolis, Ind.; 11 daughters, Sondra Smalling, Deborah (Elvis) Ferguson-Winstead, Shirley Ferguson, Sherry Ferguson and Cassandra Ferguson, all of Evansville, Ind., Stephanie Woods, Joyce (Grady) Gary, Tamela Ferguson and Zikea Ferguson, all of South Bend, and Lisa and Kisha Herbert of Memphis; seven sons, Michael Levels of Anderson, Ind., Thomas Ferguson Jr. and Trent Ferguson of Evansville, Anthony Ferguson of South B end, Steven and Patrick Herbert of Chicago Heights, and Stanley Herbert of Memphis; along with 38 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Ferguson of Detroit, Mich.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Ferguson will be held at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 9, in Alford's Mortuary. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services in Alford's Mortuary where arrangements have been entrusted.
