SOUTH BEND - John Stephen Fezy, 64, of North Chicago Street, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday in his home of natural causes. Mr. Fezy retired in 1984 as a captain after 24 years with the South Bend Fire Department. He also worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for 20 years. He was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Scranton, Pa., and lived in South Bend since 1948.

On April 24, 1954, in South Bend, he married Marlene J. Lezer. She survives with a son, John S. Jr. of Granger; three grandchildren; and one brother, Alexander Fezy of South Bend. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 5570, American Legion Post 50 and South Bend Civic and Democratic Club.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Stephen Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or any charity.
