SOUTH BEND - Arlone E. Fick, 85, of South Bend, IN passed
away at 1:15 AM Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Hospice House, South
Bend, IN. She was born on September 30, 1922 in Chicago, IL to
Albert and Elsie (Svejda) Hruby and had lived in
South Bend since 1942 coming from New Buffalo, MI. On June 6,
1942 in Three Oaks, MI she married Lawrence William Fick who
preceded her in death September 17, 1993. Mrs. Fick resided
sixty-five years at the same address. She is survived by her
daughter Loren F. Grahek of Floyds Knobs, IN; her son,
Lawrence William Fick, Jr. of South Bend; seven grandchildren;
and twelve great grandchildren. One daughter, Carmen Rice
preceded in death in 1996. Mrs. Fick enjoyed ballroom dancing.
She loved life and is now at peace.
Funeral services will be held at Noon
Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Evangel Heights United Methodist
Church, 114 N. Ironwood Drive, South Bend. Rev. Pat Somers,
pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in St.
Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with
the family from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at Palmer Funeral Home-River
Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend and at the church on
Wednesday one hour prior to services. Contributions in memory of
Arlone E. Fick may be made to Center for Hospice and Palliative
Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
