Emily Louise Fields

Emily Louise Fields, 85 years of age, of Longfellow Avenue, South Bend, died at 5:01 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 1996, at the Hospice House, South Bend, after an illness. She was the youngest child born to Levi and Mary Jane (Barnes) Terrell in Lawrence County, Ind. She graduated from Williams (Ind.) High School in 1929.

 

On June 2, 1929, in Williams, Ind., she married William E. Fields. Immediately after the wedding, the couple boarded a train for South Bend, where they have lived ever since. Louise is survived by her husband, William E. Fields. She is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dan (Penny) Gardner of Mishawaka; two grandsons, Nathan Gardner at Ball State University, Muncie, Ind. and Aaron Gardner of Mishawaka, and a granddaughter, Brittany Gardner, also of Mishawaka. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fields had three sisters and three brothers precede her in death. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and a member of the Donmoyer Avenue Congregation for many years.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Fields will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 1996, with Charles Barrington, minister of the Donmoyer Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1996. Memorial contributions in memory of Emily Louise Fields may be made to the church or the Hospice of St. Joseph County, Inc.
