Janice Arlene Fields, 75, of South Bend, Ind., passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning, Nov. 5, 2000. Janice was born on April 22, 1925 in Garret, Ind., the third of nine children, born to the late Russell Loutzenhiser and Bessie Lucille Gillespie.

She moved to South Bend, where she met and married William W. Fields on April 2, 1944. Janice is survived by her husband of 56 years and their three children, Judith Arlene Nelson (Bill) of Campbell, Calif., Scott W. Fields (Maralouise) of Mishawaka, Ind., and Dennis James Fields (Paula) of Niles, Mich.; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and by all of her brothers and sisters. Janice was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone she met.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, Ind., where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northern Indiana Chapter, 425 N.
