SOUTH BEND - Margaret G. Fifer, 79, of South Bend, IN,
passed away at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, in Holy Cross
Care and Rehabilitation Center. Margaret was born on November 4,
1928, in South Bend, IN, to Joseph and Carrie (Rozwarski) Nowak.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna M. (Brent) Hemmerlein
of Granger, IN; two grandchildren, Karen (Matt) Eppert of
Mishawaka, IN, and Jeff (Jamie) Hemmerlein of Granger, IN; two
brothers-in-law, Kenneth "John" Fifer of Mishawaka, IN,
and Chester Szymanski of New Carlisle, IN; and by many
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Thomas F. Fifer on December 15, 2006; her sister, Virginia
Szymanski; and by her brother, Ben Nowak.
A Mass of Christian of Burial will be held
at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, in St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Kaniewski
Funeral Home, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m.
Margaret was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish and the
Altar Rosary Society. Memorial contributions may be made to the American
Cancer Society.
