Josephine F. Finch

March 16, 1910 – June 20, 1997

Josephine F. Finch, 87, of South Olive Street, South Bend IN, died at 10:55am on Friday, June 20, at Transitional Health Services of South Bend.

Mrs. Finch was born on March 16, 1910, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.  She retired in 1983 from Al’s Anchor Inn as a cook.

She was married on September 5, 1935, in South Bend, as Josephine Harmacinski to Claude Finch, who preceded her in death on July 24, 1956.

Mrs. Finch is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Finch of Granger IN, and Claudine Cortier of Mishawaka IN; five sons, David Finch of Granger, Paul Finch, James Finch, Michael Finch and Kenneth Finch, all of South Bend; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; and by two brothers, Stanley Harmacinski of Mishawaka and Anthony Harmacinski of South Bend.

Mrs. Finch was a member of the Rosary Sodality of St Adalbert Catholic Church and of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 357.

Friends may call form 2 to 8pm on Monday in the St Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 4pm.

Services will be at 10am on Tuesday at St Adalbert Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St Joseph Cemetery.
