Morie Finton

SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Morie Finton, 65, of Brummitt Lane, passed away at 2:58 a.m. Monday in her residence. Mrs. Finton was born April 29, 1932, in Japan.

On June 20, 1954, at the American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, as Morie Umezawa, she married Jesse A. Finton. He survives. In 1969 after Mr. Finton retired from the military they moved to South Bend from Huntington, Ind. Other survivors include two sons, Ronald L. Finton of South Bend and Richard L. Finton of Jefferson City, Mo., and four grandchildren. In Japan there are several brothers who also survive.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the McGann Funeral Homes, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd. (232-1411). The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3050 E. Edison Rd., South Bend, with Bishop Mathew Keusch officiating. Entombment will follow at Riverview Mausoleum, South Bend. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
