Clara V. Fisher

Clara V. Fisher, 87, residing on Rue Bossuet, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 12, in Fountainview Place Nursing Home. Clara suffered a stroke on May 26th and had been in the nursing home since June 2nd. She was born on Oct. 18, 1912, in Bremen, Ind., as the daughter of the late Herman and Daisy I. (Laser) Larson. She was raised in this community and moved to Coral Gables, Fla., and Venice, Fla., where she resided for 48 years, and then returned to South Bend in 1995.

 

On July 19, 1940, in her parent's home in South Bend, as Clara V. Larson, she married Raymond Fisher, who died in 1963. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Herman Larson on June 18, 1961, and Daisy I. Larson on April 13, 1987; and by two brothers-in-law, Ralph E. McGee on Feb. 16, 1995, and Ralph L. Johnson on July 30, 1997.

 

She is survived by two sisters, Irene D. Johnson and Margaret B. McGee, both of South Bend; a brother and sister-in-law, Hubert D. "Red" and Lois Larson of South Bend; two nieces, Linda Paschke and Dan Lisenko of South Bend, Marilyn and Paul Elliott of Park Forest, Ill.; a nephew, Hubert D. and Ann Larson, Jr. of Kentland, Ind.; and by three great-nieces, one great-nephew, three great-great-nieces and two great-great-nephews.

 

Clara retired from the credit office of Sears Roebuck and Company following more than 30 years of service.

 

Services for Mrs. Fisher will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 16, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin, pastor of Northway Church of Christ, will officiate. Entombment will be at Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until time of services on Friday in the Palmer Funeral Home. Contributions in memory of Clara V.
