Mr. James R. FISK, Sr. - 2107 Byrd Dr., died Wednesday June 1, 1994. Mr. FISK was born November 23, 1918, in South Bend, IN, the son of Russell and Emma (Schenkee) Fisk and had lived in Portage since 1961, previously living in Niles, MI. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Prior to his retirement he was employed for several years at Crumpton Automotive in Plainwell and prior to that, managed several stores in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek. He was a Past Master of the Pokagon Masonic Lodge #136 F & AM and a current member of the Portage Masonic Lodge #340 F & AM. He was also a member of the Niles American Legion Post and life member of the D.A.V. Buck Crosby #6. On February 8, 1941, he was united in marriage to the former Rose Farkas who survives. Also surviving is a son and daughter-in-law James R. and Georgia Fisk, Jr. of Battle Creek; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eileen Adams of Bitely; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 12:30 PM Monday at the Langeland Portage Chapel 411 E. Centre Ave. A Trust 100 Chapel with the Portage Masonic Lodge #340 F & AM, Past Master Elmer Reynells officiating. Interment in Ft. Custer National Cemtery. Friends may meet the family Saturday and Sunday evenings from 7-9 PM at the Portage Chapel.
