Sister M. Flavia (Stephania Louise Sever), died on Thursday, Jan. 6, in Saint Mary's Convent, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, Ind.

 

Sister M. Flavia was born on Dec. 2, 1912, in Clear Creek, Utah, to the late Anton Sever and Johanna (Petek) Sever. She entered the congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, Ind., on June 23, 1934, from Salt Lake City, Utah, and made final profession in the Congregation on Aug. 15, 1940.

 

Sister M. Flavia began her ministry of Ancillary Services, in the dietary department at St. Alphonsus Hospital, Boise, Idaho. She did housekeeping at St. Teresa's Academy in Idaho and St. Mary of the Wasatch in Salt Lake City. Most of her assignments were in the hospitals and schools in the west from California to Idaho to Utah and finally in 1989, to Indiana and her ministry of prayer at Saint Mary's.

 

Wake services will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9, in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, followed by interment at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, Ind.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry with the Poor Fund, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
