MISHAWAKA - Dixie C. Fleck, 96, of Mishawaka, passed away
early Monday morning, October 6th, in the Shanower Group Home.
Dixie was born on October 22, 1911, in Crofton, KY, to the late
Walter and Lydia (Petty) Wade. She married Clement
H. Fleck in Mishawaka on November 28, 1959. He preceded her in
death on March 6, 1983. Dixie was employed at Uniroyal for 35
years, retiring in 1968. The family would like to express a
heartfelt thank you to Belva, Chris and Mike of the
Shanower Group Home for the loving care they provided Dixie.
Dixie is survived by her daughter, Jeanne "Phyllis" Moore
of Mishawaka; two grandsons, Bryon (Lee) Moore of Granger and
Kevin (June) Moore of South Bend; two great-grandchildren, Leslie
Moore of Rocky Mount, NC, and Kelly (Myken) Moore of Alexandria,
IN; and a great-great-grandson, Braxton Richard Moore. Also
surviving Dixie are her sister, Georgia Marie Flickinger
of Little Rock, AR, and a stepdaughter, Kathy (Ralph) Werner
of Mishawaka. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Lee Kaman,
Helen Hummel, Murial Langstone and Ganell David;
and by two brothers, Roger and Wyndell Wade.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 8th, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 9th, in the mausoleum at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
