Agnes M. Floyd

Agnes M. (Aggie) Floyd, 45, of Littleton, Colo., formerly of Osceola, Ind., died Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Littleton Community Hospital, after a lengthy illness. She was born to Fletcher and Faye Floyd in Burnsville, Miss. Her mother, of Osceola, survives. Her father preceded her in death in 1976.

 

On May 23, 1977, Aggie was married to Michael Clapman in Lafayette, Ind. Michael survives along with their twin children, Kathryn Floyd-Clapman and Benjamin Floyd-Clapman. Other survivors include her brothers, Harold of Mishawaka, Ind., Albert of Osceola, Mike of Elkhart, Ind.; and a sister, Linda Miller of Osceola.

 

Aggie was a graduate of Penn High School and Purdue University. After graduation from Purdue, she remained in Lafayette for several years, and was the director of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Tippecanoe County. Aggie's involvement with children continued when she took the position of manager of the National Resource Center of Child Abuse and Neglect in 1992, in Colorado. She retired from that position earlier this year.

 

Memorial services were held Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, Denver, Colo. Burial followed the services in Littleton Cemetery, Littleton. In memory of Aggie Floyd, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Humane Association, 63 Inverness Drive East, Englewood, CO 80112-5117, or to the American Cancer Society.
