Sister Mary Auxilia Flynn CSC

Funeral services were held this morning in Our Lady of Loretto Church for Sister Mary Auxilia CSC, 83, of St. Mary’s Convent, who died Sunday after an extended illness. Burial was in in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus.

Born Catherine Cecelia Flynn on Oct. 16, 1890 in Jacksonville Ill., she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Oct. 23, 1908. She was received as a novice on Aug. 6, 1909 and tooks her final vows on Aug. 15, 1911. Assigned to teaching throughout her community life, she served in LaPorte, and also at schools in Illinois, Utah and California She retired to St. Mary’s convent in 1960.
