Sister M. Leo Blanche Flynn CSC, 83, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died there Monday after an illness. As Cecilia Blanch Flynn she was born March 23, 1901 in Davenport, Iowa, and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, St. Mary’s on Jan. 5, 1921. She was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1921 and two years later made her professional vows. She was assigned to teaching in elementary and secondary schools conducted by the Sister of Holy Cross, serving here at St. Joseph Grade School and St. Mary’s Academy. She also taught in Michigan City and Hammond in Indiana; Danville, Ill. Chicago, Woodstock and Spring Valley in Illinois; Washington DC, Deming N.M.; and Fairbury, Neb. She moved to Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent in 1971, and to St. Mary’s Convent in 1977. She is survived by a sister and a brother, both of Davenport.

 

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Loretto Church with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s. Friends may call in St. Mary’s Convent Parlors, where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. today.
