Paul J. Fodroczi (April 28, 1921 -- Aug. 11, 2004)

Paul J. Fodroczi, 83, of West Catalpa Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 11, in Fountainview Place of Mishawaka.

Paul was born on April 28, 1921, in Throop, Pa., to the late Paul J. Sr. and Katheryn (Voros) Fodroczi. On May 9, 1945, he married Gertrude S. Zakrewski, who survives. He is also survived by his two sons, Denis (Barbara) Fodroczi of Granger and David (Cynthia) Fodroczi of Hudson, Wis.; two grandchildren, Sara Fodroczi of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Brian Fodroczi of Hudson; his brother, Stephen (Barbara) Fodroczi of Granger; two stepsisters, Rose Fisk of Portage, Mich., and Helen Lambick of South Bend; and by two stepbrothers, Julius Farkas of Mishawaka and Joseph Farkas of Vandalia, Mich. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Helen Farkas Fodroczi; a sister, Elizabeth Fodroczi; two brothers, Joseph and John Fodroczi; and a stepbrother, Frank Farkas.

Mr. Fodroczi was a machinist for South Bend Lathe for eight years and worked in sales and service for Absolute Pest Control for 40 years before retiring in 1983 

He was a parishioner of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, a World War II Navy veteran and served in the Naval Reserve during the Korean War

He enjoyed fishing, golfing and was a member of Bowlers Country Club, South Bend

Paul loved and enjoyed his family and will be greatly missed. Paul was a care giving person to family, friends and neighbors: always there with a helping hand!

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a wake service will be held at 3 p.m., and from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, in St. Anthony's, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend
