Ruby E. Foldesi, 86, of Moss Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Monday, July 9, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born on April 6, 1915, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to the late Adam and Bertha (Hubbard) Hilborn. She moved to the area as a child and lived most of her life here in South Bend.

On Oct. 2, 1935, she married Frank J. Foldesi, who preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1992. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice Smith and Marjorie Kellogg; and by two brothers, Donald and Norman Hilborn. She is survived by two sons, Bruce A. (Carol) Foldesi of South Bend and Dennis F. (Deanne) Foldesi of New Carlisle, Ind.; four grandchildren, Lisa Boylen, Mike Foldesi, Brian Foldesi and Scott Foldesi; and by six great-grandchildren, Chad Boylen, Sarah Boylen, Alison Foldesi, Erin Foldesi, Francine Foldesi and Kara Anne Foldesi.

Mrs. Foldesi retired in 1977 from Memorial Hospital where she had worked in the business office for 15 years. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church and belonged to the St. John's Rosary Society and the St. John's Retiree Group. She was also a member of the Memorial Retirees Group.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, July 11, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, in the Kaniewski Funeral Chapel, with entombment to follow at Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church, 3526 St. John Way, South Bend, IN 46628. The Kaniewski Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
