Jan. 7, 1924 - Jan. 23, 1999

Betty J. Foltz, 75, of Ridgewood Drive, South Bend, Ind., was promoted to Glory at 1:53 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, from her residence.

She was born in Curtisville, Pa., on Jan. 7, 1924, and had lived in this area since 1959, coming from Pennsylvania.

Betty was longtime member of the Grace Brethern Church. Her favorite scripture passage was Proverbs: Chapter 3 Verses 5-6, ''Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.''

She married Robert E. Foltz in DuBois, Pa., on Dec. 21, 1943.

Surviving to cherish her memory as a loving and faithful wife is Bob, her husband of 55 years; and arising to call her blessed are her children, two daughters, Pamela Darlene Foltz of South Bend, and Patti Dawn (Mike) Hoyle of Highland, Ind., and two sons, Paul David Foltz and Philip Daniel Foltz, both of South Bend. Her family gives tribute to the fact that she fully lived Proverbs 31, the Virtuous Woman.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William Kind and Helen (McCauley) Reed; and by two brothers, C. Richard Reed and William Kind Reed II.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, Ind.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with Rev. Scot Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International.
