GRANGER - LaVerne J. Foos, 57, died Monday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, of natural causes. Survivors include her husband, Harold of Granger; and a sister, Kathleen Bogucki of Elkhart. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

LaVerne J. Foos

Aug. 7, 1948 - Jan. 30, 2006

 

LaVerne J. Foos, 57, of Granger, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2006. after a courageous battle with cancer.

 

LaVerne was born on August 7, 1948, in LaPorte, IN, to the late Emmett and Marceil (Bailey) Hansen. On July 6, 1974, she married Harold J. Foos in South Bend. She is also preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Herrick.

 

LaVerne is survived by her husband, Harold of Granger; one sister, Kathleen (Thomas) Bogucki of Elkhart; four brothers-in-law, Ted Herrick of Las Vegas, NV, Ray (Jane) Bogucki of Rockford, IL, James (Carole) Foos of Granger and Jack (Gloria) Foos of Mishawaka; one niece, Charlene Bogucki; two nephews, Dennis Bogucki and Frederick Bogucki; special friends and caregivers, Lester (Mary) Severin of Los Angeles, CA, Peg (Bud) Zimmer of Osceola and Betty Chrobot of Mishawaka. Also surviving her are her loving Saint Bernards, Missy and Abby. She also had a large extended family through the 65/66 Full Size Chevrolet Club.

 

She was a John Adams High School graduate, class of 1967. LaVerne was a member of the American Legion Post 308 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the 65/66 Full Size Chevrolet Club. She was very devoted to family and friends. She supported the Saint Bernard Rescue because of her love for her own big babies.

 

Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2006, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
