Mrs. Nellie J. Foraker

February 12, 1881April 18, 1965

Mrs. Nellie J. Foraker, 84, of 326 N. Eddy St., died at 6pm Sunday in St Joseph’s Hospital after a two week illness.

She was born in Christian County IL, on February 12, 1881 and came to South Bend 50 years ago form Indianapolis.  Her husband, Thomas J. Foraker, whom she married in 1903 in Illinois, died September 22, 1951. Surviving are a son, Dwight G., of South Bend, and a sister, Miss Minnie Hitchcock, also of South Bend.

Services will be at 1:30pm Wednesday in the First Brethren Church with Rev. John P. Byler, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

She was a member of the church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Perkins Camp, Veterans of the Spanish-American War, Mishawaka.

Friends may call in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home from noon Tuesday until noon Wednesday, when the body will be taken to the church.

Funeral Notes

Included among the survivors of Mrs. Nellie J. Foraker, 326 N. Eddy St., who died Sunday are a granddaughter, Mrs Betty Jena Stokes, of South Bend, who resided with Forakers for many years, and a great grandson.

Pallbearers will be William Yoder, Francis Sriver, Benjamin Simmerman and Harold Haenes.  Rites will be at 1:30pm Wednesday in the First Brethren Church and burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Forest G Hay Funeral Home.
