Sister M. Juliana CSC, 84, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the convent after an illness. She was born Aug. 5, 1904 as Katharina Forstmaier in Schonberg, Germany. On Sept. 8, 1922 she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s. She became a nun on Aug. 15, 1925. Sister Juliana was assigned to housekeeping duties and served in the convents of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at academies, hospitals and orphanages. From 1968 to 1972 she served as sacristan at Dunbarton College, Washington DC, and from 1972 to 1984 at Mount Carmel Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. She came to reside at St. Mary’s Convent in 1984.

 

Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of Loretto at St. Mary’s and burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery at St. Mary’s. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the convent., where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
