David L. Forsythe

David L. Forsythe, 75, of Woodmont Drive, South Bend, died Wednesday morning in Memorial Hospital. David retired in 1988 as National Sales Representative for the Uniroyal Corp after 30 years. He was born April 15, 1926, in Gary, In. and has lived in South Bend since 1964 after coming from River Edge, New Jersey.

On September 4, 1949, in LaPorte he married Magdalen Catchur who survives along with three daughters: Cathy (Mike) Grant of Mishawaka, Tracey (Jim) Hellinga of South Bend and Becky Forsythe of South Bend; six grandchildren: Jason Grant, Scott Gramm, Brandy Forsythe, Matthew Forsythe, Sarah Hellinga and Adam Hellinga; a sister, Marjorie Forsythe of Whiting, IN; and a sister-in-law, Karla Forsythe of South Bend. A son, David preceded him in death. David attended Purdue University and was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy.

Services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson 219-289-1000, with Rev. Wilson Shabaz, officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday before services in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 535 W.
