Bernice L. Fox, 84, of 22130 Fox St., Cassopolis, Michigan, died Friday, April 9, 1999, at 3:45 a.m. in Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, after an illness of several months. She was born Sept. 2, 1914, in La Grange Twp., Cass Co., Michigan, the daughter of Owen and Pauline (Milliman) Breece, and lived her entire life in the Cassopolis area.

Mrs. Fox married Kenneth G. Fox, November 23, 1939, in La Grange Twp., and he survives, with a son and two daughters, Michael Fox of Cassopolis, Michele Rosser and her husband, Mark, of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Melissa Dohm and her husband, Robert, of Cassopolis. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Nara Rosser, Jessica Rosser, Zachary Fox, Summer Dohm, and Matthew Dohm; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents and her sister, Dorothy Ross.

Mrs. Fox was as devoted to her community as she was to her family, having been among the first to deliver for the Meals on Wheels program for the Cass County Council on Aging. She was also active in her church, the United Methodist Church, Cassopolis, having served with the United Methodist Women's group. She also served with the Cass County Cancer Service and with the Cass County Medical Care Facility Auxiliary.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at 11 a.m. in the Connelly Funeral Home, Cassopolis. Officiating will be Rev. Donald R. Ferris, Mrs. Fox's pastor. Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Cassopolis. Friends may call in the funeral home Monday from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, or to the Cass County Medical Care Facility Auxiliary.
