Philipina Fox

 

MRS. HENRY FOX

 

Mrs. Philipina Fox, 75 of Mishawaka, widow of Henry Fox, died yesterday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Maier, six miles west of Wakarusa.  She had gone to the Maier home Thursday morning to attend a meeting of the Ladies Aid Society of the German Evangelical church, and suffered a stroke of paralysis as she entered the door.  She died that afternoon without regaining consciousness.  Mrs. Fox, who before her marriage was Philipina Schlarb, was born Dec. 3, 1854, in Madison township, St. Joseph county, near Woodland, Ind.  Mr. Fox died 12 years ago.

 

Surviving her are three sons, Martin Fox, seven miles west of Wakarusa, to whose home the body has been taken, George Fox of Bremen, and Walter Fox of Mishawaka; three daughters, Mrs. Edna Wordinger of Mishawaka, Mrs. Frieda Hoffman of South Bend, and Mrs. Minnie Truex of North Liberty; 24 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, one brother Jacob Schlarb of Mishawaka; and two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Horein of Wakarusa and Mrs. Margaret Mattmiller of Mishawaka.  Two other sons and two other daughters died in infancy.

 

The funeral will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Zion Evangelical church, seven miles northwest of Wakarusa, conducted by the Rev. J. F. Kreuger.  Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery nearby.
