MISHAWAKA - Robert D. Fox, 83, of Maple Street, Mishawaka, passed away at Hospice House, South Bend, on April 18th following an illness. He was born on August 19th, 1926, in Mishawaka, to Harold and Violet (Martin) Fox, who both preceded him in death. On September 4th, 1948, in Mishawaka, he married the former Charlene Wampler, who survives with four children, Deborah (Frank) Wilson and James (Mary) Fox, both of Granger, Michael (Kathy) Fox of Cassopolis, Michigan, and Mary Ann (Robert) Davis of Mishawaka. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Fox Jr., and a sister, Phyllis Rich. Mr. Fox was a veteran of the United States Army, and was a member of the VFW Post #360 and also of St. Paul's Memorial United Methodist Church, South Bend. Mr. Fox was part-owner with his sons of Fox and Sons Auto Clinic, Mishawaka. He retired in 1985. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will follow the services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care or to the church.
