Clara M. Freed

Mishawaka - Mrs. Clara M. Freed, 90, of 1021 E. 3rd St., died at 4:10 a.m. today in her residence after a brief illness. She was born in Mishawaka Nov. 21, 1878, and spent her lifetime in this area.

 

As Clara Ungrey, she married William H. Freed in 1897. He died in 1947. Surviving are two sons, W. George Freed, Mishawaka, and Vernon J. Freed, Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Philip Hesch, Wakarusa; two half-brothers, Walter Ungrey, Mishawaka, and William Ungrey, San Antonio, Tex.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Clara Kemp, Chicago, and Mrs. Elizabeth Zerbe, Milwaukee; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday in the Hollis Funeral Home, South Bend, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Rev. Scott Weaver if the Ireland Rd. Brethren Church, South Bend, assisted by Rev. Richard DeMarmey of the Bethel Brethren Church, Osceola, will officiate.

 

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
