SOUTH BEND - Henry J. Friebele, 93, of South Bend, IN,
passed away at 5:05 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2008 in Healthwin
Specialized Care Facility. Henry was born on August 6, 1915 in
Hesperia, MI to John Henry and Elizabeth (Kirchenbaure)
Friebele. He retired from the Bendix Corporation after 30 years
of service. On July 31, 1948 in St. Paul Church, South Bend, IN,
he married Dorothy Schmaltz, who survives. Henry and
Dorothy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July. Other
surviving family members include his son, John (Dorothy) Friebele
of St. Peters, MO; two grandchildren, Barbara Friebele and
Michael Friebele; and one great-grandson, Tommy. Preceding him in
death were his two sisters, Esther Chapman and Myrtle Winans.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. today in the funeral home. Henry was a W.W. II Army Veteran. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northway Church of Christ.
