Leo V. Friesner Sr.

OSCEOLA - Leo V. Friesner Sr., 94, of Rosewood Terrace, Elkhart, formerly of Osceola, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday in the nursing home after an illness. Mr. Friesner retired in 1963 from Studebaker Corp. after 35 years of service. He was born April 17, 1901, in Bristol and lived in Osceola most of his life. In 1919, in Coldwater, Mich., he married Anna E. McPherson. She died July 15, 1965.

 

In 1966, in Elkhart, he married Hazel DeLong. She died in 1985. He is survived by three sons, Leo V. Jr., Lowell M., and Byron W., all of Osceola; two stepdaughters, Marilyn Grieb of Toledo, Ohio, and Karen DeLucenay of Elkhart; a stepson, Richard DeLong of Detroit; 19 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Berniece Finch of Mount Pleasant, Mich. A daughter, Arlene Blad, and two sons, Richard and Donald, preceded him in death. He was a member of Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Warner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
